About us
Kipawa Trust International is a charity dedicated to the creation, maintenance and development of feeding programmes and counseling facilities for impoverished school children in Kenya. How we started: Kipawa was set up and registered in the UK by a group of friends who had spent time in the Thika district of Kenya. During their time there, they had witnessed a real need for additional feeding facilities and facilities at schools targeted largely at its slum children. With support from friends and other contacts in Kenya, they decided to establish a charity to help address some of these problems. Our plan: Kipawa has determined a need for several feeding programmes in existing schools in the Thika district of Kenya, about 45 miles north of Nairobi. These feeding programmes, as well as being of value in themselves, have the additional benefit of encouraging children to attend school. A fantastic 2012/13!
The trustees held the Annual General Meeting on 21st February, a report of which will be posted on the site soon. At that meeting though, we noted that our accounts had been approved by OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator). Thanks to the work and donations of all our donors, Kipawa raised an incredible £27,027 in the last financial year! On behalf of the children of Mukuya School and the wider Ruiru community, we are incredibly grateful. Read More
London Marathon – 21st April 2013
Assuming his knees hold up, one of our trustees (David) is running the London Marathon on 21st April in aid of Kipawa.
