About us

Kipawa Trust International is a charity dedicated to the creation, maintenance and development of feeding programmes and counseling facilities for impoverished school children in Kenya. How we started: Kipawa was set up and registered in the UK by a group of friends who had spent time in the Thika district of Kenya. During their time there, they had witnessed a real need for additional feeding facilities and facilities at schools targeted largely at its slum children. With support from friends and other contacts in Kenya, they decided to establish a charity to help address some of these problems. Our plan: Kipawa has determined a need for several feeding programmes in existing schools in the Thika district of Kenya, about 45 miles north of Nairobi. These feeding programmes, as well as being of value in themselves, have the additional benefit of encouraging children to attend school. As of Autumn 2010, we have determined a suitable school for the first of these programmes, and now require...

Autumn 2011 trip to Kenya

Two of our trustees, Kirsty and Kieran flew out to Kenya to visit the feeding programme at Mukuya School in September. It was important for us to see what progress our charity is making and to find out what Kipawa could do to improve things or to further assist the children there. They were treated to a fantastic welcome by the entire school, including songs and poems of thanks.
