Helping Kenyan Families Thrive

Kipawa Trust International is a Scottish-based charity that supports school feeding programmes and other holistic support services for children and their families living in poverty in Kenya.

Our current focus is the children, families and wider communities around Mukuyu and Mutundu schools in the Ruiru area of Kenya, North of Nairobi.

Programmes We Support

  • School Meals

By funding the provision of both school breakfast and lunch, Kipawa ensures children received healthy, nutritious food that helps them grown strong and enables them to concentrate on their studies. At the same time, the meals incentivise even the poorest of families to send their children to school instead of out to work.

  • Family Full Support Model

This programme, currently implemented by Macheo with support from Kipawa, is designed to address the multifaceted challenges faced by vulnerable families in Ruiru. The program takes a holistic approach, focusing on food security, education access, healthcare, economic empowerment, and child protection.

Since Kipawa was founded in 2010, we’ve raised and spent an incredible £600,000+ to help vulnerable children and families in Kenya.

You can help us to raise even more for Kenya’s children.

Helping Families Thrive

Alongside our partner charity Macheo, Kipawa not only provides immediate support through school meals and financial aid, we aim to ensure families reach a point where they are economically empowered.

Take Kate who, as a young teenage mother, received emergency cash funding, mental health counselling and help to escape her difficult living conditions. With less than £100 of additional support, Kate was able to set up her own business to ensure her long-term economic security.
